Darbhanga Times (دربھنگہ ٹائمز) is an international refereed, peer reviewed research journal in Urdu, published quarterly from Darbhanga in Bihar. It carries the ISSN 2395-2016 and is edited by Dr. Mansoor Khushtar.
What each volume contains
Every issue brings together research papers on Urdu language and literature, literary criticism, short fiction, and poetry. Papers are read by the editorial board before they are accepted for print.
The Gosha
A distinctive feature of the journal is the Gosha — a special section given over to a single writer, gathering essays, appreciations and selections of their work in one place. Recent volumes have carried a Gosha on S. M. Rafi, on Qasim Khursheed, and on Jamal Oveysi. The July 2025 – March 2026 volume also carried Pyara Bachpan 1, a section devoted to Urdu children’s literature.
The editor
Dr. Mansoor Khushtar was born in Darbhanga in 1986. Alongside editing this journal he has published his own criticism and poetry, including Naqd-e-Afsana (2016), Tarzi Aur Ijtihad-e-Sheri (2018) and Kasa-e-Dil, and has compiled volumes such as Ikkiswin Sadi Mein Urdu Ghazal (2017) and Bihar Me Bachon Ka Adab Kal Aur Aaj (2021).
